It's a "Whole New World" and a Whole New OBD Kids Season!
Directed by Christian Mayer, the "OBD Kids" is our award-winning musical theatre competition troupe designed for serious "triple threat" performers.
UPDATE! Auditions for the 2010-2011 Troupe and their production of "Aladdin" will be held on August 14th at 2:00 pm. We are now preparing the list of auditionees for our August audition. Call to reserve your audition timeslot (770) 664-2410.
An optional OBD Kids Intensive Summer Camp for interested future Troupe Members will be held in July.
The OBD Kids season runs from September through February.
It includes weekly Actors Intensive classes as well as the production rehearsals, both typically held on Saturdays. There is a participation fee of $485 which covers the 7 months of instruction from our Musical Director, Directors, Choreographers and guest professionals.
Following two weekends of shows in our black box theatre, The OBD Kids then take their show on the road to compete at the "National Performing Arts Festival" in Orlando and have a 4-day stay in Walt Disney World - including 3 days in the Disney parks!

Our award-winning musical theatre competition troupe is designed for more serious-minded "triple threat" performers, who live and breathe the theatre.
Each year a small cast of performers, ranging in age from 8 - 18, are chosen to be members of the Troupe.
After a lengthy audition process, the OBD Kids rehearse their show an average of 6 hours a week over a 9 month period, in addition to polishing their acting, dance and vocal skills via weekly lessons. Most troupe members put in an average of 10 - 12 hours in training each week, but their hard work pays off in terms of a wonderful camaraderie among cast members, an exciting 3 day full production at a regional theatre, and the thrill of competing with other theatre and drama teams across the United States.
OBD Kids takes the performers through the process of becoming an actor including stage movement, staging of songs, character development, makeup and costuming. Through performing they not only learn to deliver lines and move confidently about the stage but also develop a self assurance that comes with performing well. The emphasis is on having fun and performing in a professional environment.
The OBD Kids Can Perform at Your Next Event
The Off Broadway Kids are available to perform at your corporate or civic function.
The performance requirements are a 600-800 square foot stage, and a sound system with cd player and microphones preferred.
